Halfway!

I am now 21 weeks along and a little over halfway! I am so thankful that I am feeling great!! I started feeling Wyatt move right at 20 weeks and Raymond got to feel him for the first time just before 21 weeks! It's so exciting! The first time I felt him it was just random and then I didn't feel him for a long time. Now he moves almost all day! I love it most of the time except when he decides to kick my bladder or when he won't stop moving so I can sleep.

We have started registering and we are looking forward to starting the nursery decorating! The crib should be here some time in December. We picked cars, planes, and trains as a theme for the nursery and I think it will look great!

As I think about the upcoming months, it's a little overwhelming with having Wyatt in April, finishing my last rotation in May, moving to the Lawton/Elgin area sometime in May or June, starting work in June, and taking my boards in July!! It will definitely be a busy few months, but I am sure we will make it through!

Here is my 21 week bump picture!

Gender/Name Reveal

I also forgot to post the pictures of our gender/name reveal with both families! It was really hard to wait to tell them since our ultrasound was Tuesday and we weren't getting together until Friday and Saturday, but I have to say that the pictures and seeing their faces was totally worth it!!!

We went to Raymond's parents house on Friday night. First, we had them get a hershey's kiss out of our bowl and eat it. Raymond's dad quickly figured out that it had an almond in the middle, hence, a baby boy! :)

Next, we gave them envelopes with all the letters of the first and middle name so they could try to figure out what the name was. Raymond's mom figured this one out quickly! We had lots of fun telling them!!

On Saturday night, we went to my grandparents house to share the news with my family. I did not do the hershey kisses because I wasn't sure they would all appreciate the humor :) On the inside of their envelopes, it said "It's a Boy!" so they figured that out first. Then they also put the letters together and my mom was the first one to figure it out!

My mom is excited, can't you tell? haha

We really enjoyed spending time with our family and sharing the wonderful news! The most important news, however, was that Wyatt is healthy and developing right on schedule!

Belly Pictures!

I realized that I have not posted any of my belly pictures! I always think I am doing so well and taking them every week, but this is definitely not the case. And the # of weeks changes on Wednesdays when I am in Yukon so all of them are in the mirror since Raymond isn't here.

5 weeks. All bloat, not baby.

11 weeks

13 weeks

14 weeks

16 weeks

19 weeks. I can see a very noticeable difference between 16 and 19 weeks! Wyatt is growing!

I now have people actually notice I am pregnant and ask when I am due. Some ask how far along I am and when I tell them they always ask if it's twins. Lovely. I realize though that I have a small frame and there is nowhere for this baby to go except out!

Ultrasound

We had our 2nd trimester ultrasound today! We now know the gender :) We are waiting to tell everyone until this weekend when we can get together with our families and tell everyone in person!

They took lots of measurements during this ultrasound and everything looks good! Baby was rolling over a lot and we didn't get many good pictures, but that's okay. I am just glad to know baby is healthy!

Also, I weighed myself at the doctor's office and I have gained 10 pounds since the last appointment!! YAY!!! I am so excited about this! It takes some of the stress away to know that I am gaining weight and should be back to an appropriate weight in a week or two!

Nothing else exciting at this appointment! We are so blessed to have a healthy baby! I am still continuing my rotations and I am on track to graduate in May! We keep praying that all continues to go smoothly!

Look for a facebook post Saturday night with the gender!! :D We cannot wait to share our excitement with everyone!

View from the top of the head looking at the brain.

About the best profile picture we got. Looks like the hand is up by the face.

Baby is rolling over again! So it's back of head, arm, and leg.

The tech switched to 4D for a minute. This is about the best picture we got. Baby is still skinny but looks like a baby!

Losing Weight

We went to the OB today and we actually found out that I have lost 7 pounds in a month!! I couldn't believe it! I have been eating anything and everything I want and not worrying about it being super healthy. Needless to say, my body is obviously resistant to gaining weight which is no surprise since I have always been small without dieting. I have been instructed to eat more! I am adding Boost every day which I mix with ice cream in a shake to make it a little more tolerable. Although I enjoy the thought of eating ice cream every day, I wish that it wasn't because I have failed to gain weight. I hope that this solution fixes it and I have gained a considerable amount of weight before we go back.

On a positive note, the baby is measuring correctly for 16 weeks and the heartbeat was strong at about 160. I guess the baby is still getting what it needs despite my weight loss. We go back Nov. 8 to find out if it is a girl or boy and I am so excited!!! It makes drinking the nasty boost shakes and feeling extremely full all day worth it!

I also have to mention how great my husband has been through all this! He knows me and makes sure that I am taking care of myself above everything else! He even forced me to get my flu shot even though I really didn't want to get it yet. ;)

We knew pregnancy wouldn't be the easiest thing to do especially while I finish school, but I know that God will see us through this! Praying hard for some weight gain at the next appointment! And a big healthy baby on that ultrasound :)

Baby Pictures!!

We had an awesome OB appointment today! This was our 12 week appointment so we reviewed the labs I did last time and did an ultrasound. All my labs are normal and I don't need any supplements which is great news!

And for the more exciting part, the ultrasound pictures!! :D This ultrasound was a little more basic than the last one so they are a little harder to see, but the baby is definitely getting bigger! The doctor said we are exactly on point for our due date of April 12, 2012.

If you look close in this one you can see the hand! :D Also, the facial bones.

This is a profile view. The nose is noticeable now and there is an arm going up to the mouth!

I think this is a view from the back, but I like it because the arms are in motion!

The baby was very active this time! It was very different from the last ultrasound when it was perfectly still! Raymond said it looked like the baby was shaking it's hips and waving it's arms. haha. The heart rate was 170bpm and everything looks good!

We also scheduled our gender ultrasound for November 8! It is only 6 weeks away, but we can hardly wait!! :D It will be a perfect present for my birthday November 11!

Oh the joys of pregnancy

Today I am just in the mood to blog, which never happens so I will go with it! We will have a baby update Thursday after the OB appointment, but for today I will share some of the things I have discovered in the last few weeks.

1. Eating two doughnuts for breakfast and then attempting to clean out the refrigerator and pantry will not end well and it definitely doesn't help the morning sickness. I should have eaten lunch first!

2. Eating while laying in bed might be my favorite thing to do! :D And when you do this with a tank top on, you will find crumbs on your belly when you go to take a shower. haha

3. I am not one of those people who enjoys being pregnant. I am SO ready to find out if this is a boy or girl and then I will be ready for the baby to be here. This whole "enjoy the entire experience" is for the birds! I feel terrible in the morning and the rest of the day I feel like I could fall asleep at any moment... I am not going to enjoy this! haha

Those are my top 3. I had more things figured out in my head to write earlier, but that was before I took a nap and they have escaped me. I hope I have not bored you to tears with my ramblings and look forward to a more exciting update later this week about the baby! :D

Ultrasound - 9 weeks

We went to our first ultrasound today and it was great! Our little baby is about 1.7 centimeters and has a heart beat of 168 bpm! I was amazed! We got lots of pictures and were very excited to see the baby for the first time!

The ultrasound tech kept calling it a boy and this made Raymond happy, but we have a few weeks before we really know so for now I am not choosing one or the other.

First Appointment

Well I promised a post after our first appointment and although it was uneventful I will post!

We really really like our doctor! Well we haven't met the doctor yet, but we met the PA and nurses and they were great! I got poked and prodded a lot and I guess we will find out all the results later. They also scheduled an ultrasound for Friday so I am very excited about that!

They gave us lots of information to read so I am sure we (haha probably just me) will be busy reading! Especially since this is our first. They also refilled my Zofran so I can survive the mornings :D I am happy to say that the morning sickness now just appears in the morning and it's much more tolerable. This came at a good time and I hope it lasts because I start a new rotation tomorrow and it's one of my medicine rotations so it will take a lot more time and effort.

That's about all I have to report for now! I am 8 weeks today and moving right along!

Morning Sickness (which actually lasts all day)

I figure it's time for an update. I am about 7 weeks now and the morning sickness has definitely hit hard! The worst part is that I cannot get into my OB until Wednesday so I had to go to the ER on Tuesday to get nausea meds. But they are helping and things are going much better! Today is one of the best days I have had in awhile. I have definitely learned to take one day at a time and focus on the end which is totally worth it!

I know a lot of people have asked what I will be doing about my rotations since I will not be done until May 2012. I have talked to the coordinator and they will allow me to be off the month of April. I will then go back and finish up in May and June. This will make me a summer graduate instead of a spring graduate which delays taking my boards, but I think having a little more time with the new baby at home will be fine :D I really wanted to do a rotation in December, but they acted like that just was not an option. But in all of this I have learned, it's God's timing and not mine! This pregnancy was not planned and I have to trust that it is all in God's hands and he has a much greater plan!

The song that keeps coming to mind is "Strong Enough" by Matthew West. The song was written from the scripture that we have all heard often: Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through him who gives me strength."

God will give us the strength and we will be blessed with a baby in April! :D

Pregnant

Pregnant! We found out this week that I am pregnant!

Due date is around April 13th.

First OB appointment is August 31st so we will update after that.
