Well I promised a post after our first appointment and although it was uneventful I will post!
We really really like our doctor! Well we haven't met the doctor yet, but we met the PA and nurses and they were great! I got poked and prodded a lot and I guess we will find out all the results later. They also scheduled an ultrasound for Friday so I am very excited about that!
They gave us lots of information to read so I am sure we (haha probably just me) will be busy reading! Especially since this is our first. They also refilled my Zofran so I can survive the mornings :D I am happy to say that the morning sickness now just appears in the morning and it's much more tolerable. This came at a good time and I hope it lasts because I start a new rotation tomorrow and it's one of my medicine rotations so it will take a lot more time and effort.
That's about all I have to report for now! I am 8 weeks today and moving right along!

Morning Sickness (which actually lasts all day)
I figure it's time for an update. I am about 7 weeks now and the morning sickness has definitely hit hard! The worst part is that I cannot get into my OB until Wednesday so I had to go to the ER on Tuesday to get nausea meds. But they are helping and things are going much better! Today is one of the best days I have had in awhile. I have definitely learned to take one day at a time and focus on the end which is totally worth it!
I know a lot of people have asked what I will be doing about my rotations since I will not be done until May 2012. I have talked to the coordinator and they will allow me to be off the month of April. I will then go back and finish up in May and June. This will make me a summer graduate instead of a spring graduate which delays taking my boards, but I think having a little more time with the new baby at home will be fine :D I really wanted to do a rotation in December, but they acted like that just was not an option. But in all of this I have learned, it's God's timing and not mine! This pregnancy was not planned and I have to trust that it is all in God's hands and he has a much greater plan!
The song that keeps coming to mind is "Strong Enough" by Matthew West. The song was written from the scripture that we have all heard often: Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through him who gives me strength."
God will give us the strength and we will be blessed with a baby in April! :D
